SPECIFICATIONS FOR: INNOVASEA VR2AR ACOUSTIC RELEASE RECEIVERS

PURPOSE: This equipment is necessary to continue and expand sturgeon research conducted in Washington rivers, bays, and estuaries and along the Washington coast. These specific receivers and transponders communicate with our currently deployed or inventoried items. The AR2AR Acoustic Release Receivers are specialized in that they have a release mechanism triggered by an (already owned) Innovasea VR100 acoustic tracker. This feature allows the receivers to operate as a fully submerged system without the need for a surface marker, thereby reducing the risk of loss due to theft or an accidental boat collision. The NexTrak receivers are able to communicate with our currently owned receivers and transponders.

Note: Polychlorinated biphenyls, commonly known as PCBs, have adverse effects on human health and the environment. Accordingly, the State of Washington through its procurement of goods is trying to minimize the purchase of products with PCBS and to incentive its vendors to sell products and products in packaging without them. WDFW respectfully requests any packaging be without color or dyes.
