About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI #24071) issued by Greenville County, South Carolina, seeking vendors to provide a comprehensive permitting and inspection software system for use in county offices and on the county website. The RFI, released on January 26, 2024, with responses due by February 23, 2024, requests detailed information about software solutions capable of handling permits for new construction (residential and commercial), stand-alone permits (electrical, mechanical, plumbing), sign permits, renovations, and mobile homes. Vendors are asked to provide detailed responses addressing software specifications, public accessibility, internal processing efficiency, record retention, point-of-sale capabilities, integration potential with financial and GIS software, implementation timelines, training protocols, customer support, and approximate system costs.

The county is not seeking direct pricing at this stage but is conducting an initial information-gathering exercise to explore potential software solutions. Vendors are required to submit a comprehensive software description, including ease of use, implementation time, training approaches, and customer support protocols. Additionally, vendors must provide a list of references currently using their system, including contact names, telephone numbers, and email addresses. The county reserves the right to issue a formal Request for Proposals and conduct demonstrations at a later date, indicating this RFI is a preliminary step in a potential procurement process for a new permitting and inspection software system.
