Fiscal Year 2024_Ver.1
Performance Work Statement (PWS) / Statement of Work (SOW) Marine Barracks Washington (MBW) Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger
1. Background The mission of the Motor Transportation Platon at MBW is to plan, coordinate and provide transportation for all high visibility events for the unit to include but not limited to, Evening Parades, Sunset Parades, Funerals and White House events.
2. Scope Many of the events that are supported by the Motor Transportation Platoon require a large quantity of vehicles due to the volume of personnel involved, mainly the Sunset Parades, hosted every Tuesday during the summer months. MBW has 3 MCI J4500E Charge EV buses that can assist with this requirement however due to insufficient infrastructure they have aided in a limited capacity. Utilization of these EV buses has been limited due to the unreliability and ineffectiveness of their designated charger. Leasing of a reliable and efficient mobile Direct Current (DC) EV charger would ensure buses are charged to full capacity in a timely manner and would allow for rapid charging at any location. With a new and improved charging source these EV buses could be used more frequently reducing the burden placed on older buses.
