About this file
This Performance Work Statement (PWS) details the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) requirements for Breathing Air Compressors (BAC) and Hurst Electro-Hydraulic (eDraulic) Rescue equipment at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan. The contract requires a qualified technician to perform semi-annual maintenance on breathing air compressors and annual maintenance on rescue equipment, with specific tasks including fluid changes, filter replacements, equipment inspections, air sample testing, and comprehensive reporting. The contract period is one year with four option years, covering equipment across four fire stations (with a potential fifth station to be added), and requires technicians to have certifications from both BAUER and Hurst for air compressors and rescue tools.
The performance objectives mandate that 85% of breathing air compressors and rescue equipment must be operational 90% of the time, with daily and weekly readiness inspections conducted by the Fire & Emergency Services. The technician must provide written reports within 48 hours of completing work, including details of maintenance performed and any wear and tear part numbers. Specific equipment includes stationary and mobile BAUER air compressors and various Hurst rescue tools (rams, cutters, and spreaders) located across different fire station buildings. The contract emphasizes compliance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards and requires technicians to complete manufacturer-specific training programs to ensure proper maintenance and operational safety.
