About this file

This is a Performance Bond document issued by the County of Orange, California, a political subdivision of the State of California, for use in conjunction with contracted hair care services at three juvenile facilities operated by the County of Orange Probation Department. The bond serves as a faithful performance guarantee, ensuring that the selected contractor will complete all contractual obligations in accordance with the terms and conditions of the underlying service agreement. The bond must be executed by the principal contractor and a surety company authorized to conduct business in California, with the bond amount to be determined based on the contract price at a specified premium rate. The document requires notarization of the surety representative's signature and compliance with California Corporations Code Section 313 regarding corporate authorization for contract execution.

The bond establishes joint and several liability between the principal contractor and surety for performance of all covenants, conditions, and agreements outlined in the hair care services contract. The surety waives notice of any changes, extensions, alterations, or additions to the contract terms, work specifications, or timeline, maintaining full obligation under the bond regardless of such modifications. The County of Orange, through its CEO/Risk Management office and County Counsel, must approve the surety and bond limits prior to contract execution. The document specifies that all costs, reasonable expenses, and fees incurred by the County in enforcing the bond obligation shall be taxable as costs and included in any judgment rendered against the contractor or surety.
