About this file
This document contains hydrologic reference data and elevation duration curves for the Pembina Levee Repairs project along the Red River of the North in Pembina, North Dakota. The data was collected at the USGS gage approximately 0.9 miles downstream of the project site and is representative of the project area due to known backwater effects. The hydrograph and duration curves provide daily water elevation data from 2014-2023 and monthly duration data from 2002-2024, including the record flood event of 793.42 feet NAVD88 in 2009. This information supports the federal contract opportunity for the removal of existing sheet piling at Outfall A along the Pembina River. The contract is being solicited by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineering District St. Paul (Solicitation #W912ES24Q0123) and requires accessing the project area, cutting or pulling existing sheet piling, disposing of excess material, and site restoration.

Notes:
1. The daily elevation hydrographs are based on data collected at the Red River of the North at Pembina, ND USGS gage (05102490). This gage is approximately 0.9 miles downstream of the project site and is likely representative of elevation at the project site given backwater effects that are known to occur from the Red River of the North up the Pembina River. There are 22 years of record (Oct 2002-May 2024). The highest recorded elevation at the gage occurred on April 15, 2009 (793.42 ft). The datum of the gage is 740.75 ft NAVD 88. Note a small amount of missing gage data was estimated using linear interpolation.
2. These daily elevation hydrographs are based on the best information available. These daily elevation hydrographs represent the period shown, and do not necessarily represent all possible future conditions. Questions may be addressed to the office of the Corps of Engineers St. Paul, Minnesota.
