About this file
This is an Addendum document from Pender County Schools containing questions and answers related to a Pre-K Modular Classroom construction project. The document addresses 25 technical questions about construction specifications, including clarification that students may be present on campus briefly during a summer learning program, though the district will attempt to reassign the program and keep all students clear of the construction area for safety reasons.
The document specifies several key requirements including: poured concrete footings are required per building inspector requirements, LED lighting will be used instead of T-8, Bard units with dehumidification capability are required for HVAC, IT wiring will be handled by the school district, and the fire alarm must be tied into the main school system. The project requires Davis Bacon wages, minimal grading with soil deposits allowed onsite, a full-time project manager, and contractor responsibility for final grading and seeding. Electrical contractors must schedule a site visit to assess service adequacy and coordinate with Duke Energy if needed. The school district will handle parking lot painting and the covered walkway separately, while landscaping is not required for this project.
