About this file
This is a Payment Bond form for the Town of Waterford, Connecticut, related to the Jordan Fire House HVAC design and build upgrades project at 89 Rope Ferry Road. The bond serves as a financial guarantee that the contractor will make full payment to all subcontractors, suppliers, and laborers performing work or furnishing materials for the HVAC design and construction project. The bond is executed in three counterparts and requires signature by both the principal contractor and the surety, each attested by witnesses. The document incorporates Connecticut General Statutes Section 49-41a and specifies that the bond date must not precede the contract date. For partnerships, all partners must execute the bond.
The penal sum of the bond, contractor name, surety information, owner details, contract date, and specific work description are left blank in this template form for completion upon execution. The bond protects the owner and beneficiaries by ensuring that any changes, extensions, or modifications to the contract do not affect the surety's obligation, and it waives the requirement for notice of such changes. The surety agrees that no final settlement between the owner and contractor shall diminish the rights of any unsatisfied claimant under the bond. This bond is a standard requirement for public construction projects in Connecticut and ensures financial protection for all parties furnishing labor or materials to the project.
