About this file

This is a Payment Bond form for the Town of Waterford, Connecticut, required for the Waterford Police Department Locker Room Renovations project. The bond serves as a financial guarantee that the principal contractor will make timely payment to all subcontractors, suppliers, and laborers engaged in the project. The bond is structured as a three-party agreement between the contractor (Principal), a surety company, and the Town of Waterford (Owner). The document establishes the penal sum amount due and obligates the contractor to pay all costs associated with materials, labor, equipment, insurance, and any other expenses incurred during the execution of the work as outlined in the attached contract.

The bond incorporates Connecticut General Statutes Section 49-41a and includes provisions that protect the surety from liability for contract modifications, extensions of time, or alterations made without notice. The bond waives the surety's right to notice of any changes to the original contract terms or project specifications. Additionally, the bond protects unsatisfied beneficiaries by preventing final settlement between the Owner and Contractor from abridging any outstanding claims. The bond must be dated on or after the contract date and requires execution by authorized representatives of both the Principal and Surety, with appropriate attestation and seals. All partners of a partnership contractor must execute the bond.
