About this file

This document is a Payment Bond for the City of Santa Monica, California, specifically related to a contract for firefighting equipment. The bond is a legal instrument securing payment for contractors, subcontractors, laborers, and materialmen involved in the project, covering 100% of the contract amount. While the specific details of the entire contract are not fully specified, the related contract opportunity indicates the Santa Monica Fire Department is seeking to procure lightweight highrise structure firefighting hose.

The payment bond provides financial protection for all parties involved in the project, ensuring that suppliers, workers, and subcontractors will be compensated for their work and materials. The bond covers potential claims under the California Civil Code Section 9550 and includes provisions for attorney's fees if legal action is required. The bond appears to be executed in 2017, with flexible terms that allow for changes in the contract without invalidating the surety's obligations. The document includes placeholders for the specific principal, surety, contract amount, and other specific details to be filled in at the time of contract execution.
