About this file

This is a Payment Bond document issued by the City of Santa Monica Police Department in connection with a contract for the purchase and delivery of four Multi-Utility Vehicles (MUVs). The payment bond is required under California Civil Code Section 9550 and serves as a guarantee that the contractor will pay all laborers, materialmen, subcontractors, and suppliers involved in contract performance. The bond amount equals 100 percent of the proposal amount and provides protection to any persons named under Civil Code Section 9100 who furnish materials, equipment, or labor. The bond remains in full force and effect regardless of any changes, extensions, alterations, or modifications to the underlying contract, and the surety waives notice of such changes. The surety's obligations are binding upon its heirs, executors, administrators, successors, and assigns, jointly and severally. The document contains signature blocks for both the principal contractor and surety, requires notarial acknowledgement of the surety and power of attorney documentation, and was executed in 2017.

The payment bond requires completion through the City's standard contracting procedures and must be executed upon contract award. No specific dollar amount is disclosed in this template document, as the bond value will be calculated as 100 percent of the successful bidder's proposal price. The bond ensures performance and payment obligations for the four 2025 Polaris GENERAL XP 4 1000 Premium vehicles with specified accessories, with delivery required within 150 days of Purchase Order issuance and a minimum one-year warranty. All prices are firm for ninety days from the bid opening date, with payment terms of net thirty days from delivery and invoice receipt on an F.O.B. destination basis.
