About this file
This document is a Payment Bond for the City of Santa Monica, California, related to a biohazardous cleanup contract. The bond is issued under Civil Code Section 9550 and provides financial security for contractors, subcontractors, laborers, and materialmen involved in the project. The bond covers 100% of the contract amount and ensures payment for materials, equipment, labor, and potential unemployment insurance obligations associated with the work to be performed for the Santa Monica Police Department's biohazard cleaning and removal services.
The Payment Bond serves as a legal instrument that protects all parties involved in the contract by guaranteeing financial compensation and mitigating financial risks. The bond allows for legal recourse if payment obligations are not met, with provisions for reasonable attorney's fees in case of litigation. The surety (bond issuer) agrees to be bound by the contract terms and waives notification of any changes, extensions, alterations, or modifications to the original contract. The bond remains in effect until the contract conditions are fully performed, providing a comprehensive financial safeguard for the City of Santa Monica and all associated workers and suppliers.
