About this file
This is a timber sale map and related project documentation from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service for the Patterson Loop 26/27 Timber Sale located in Okaloacoochee Slough State Forest in Hendry County, Florida. The project encompasses 254 acres and includes thinning operations across approximately 220 acres of planted south Florida slash pine and clearcut harvesting of approximately 34 acres of planted eucalyptus. The sale is estimated to yield 1,427 tons of pine pulpwood/mulch wood and 165 tons of eucalyptus pulpwood/mulch wood. The timber harvest is divided into four separate areas proceeding west to east: Areas 1 and 4 consist of 19-23-year-old south Florida slash pine at 200-400 trees per acre with diameters ranging 5-7 inches; Areas 2 and 3 contain eucalyptus plantations last clearcut 25 years ago. All pine sale areas will maintain a target basal area of 30 or higher post-harvest. The contract term is eighteen months. Sealed bids will be opened on October 28, 2026 at 10:00 AM EDT at 10941 Palm Beach Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33905. Interested parties may obtain complete bid information by contacting James Kavanagh at (239) 690-8031.
All areas require low ground pressure equipment, with sale boundaries defined by roads, wetlands, fire lines, or obvious timber type changes. The Florida Forest Service reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularity in bids received.
