About this file
This file contains technical specifications and special provisions from Prince George's County Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T) for the Calvert Hills/College Park Storm Drain Improvement Project. The project consists of two parts: Part C involves replacing existing roadway storm drain systems, constructing new storm drain systems, sidewalk improvements, repaving roadways, constructing an underground stormwater management vault system, constructing a sediment and trash collection system, restoring an existing softball field, and related improvements in College Park. Part D includes installing new storm drain systems along Fordham Road and Drexel Road, upgrading existing storm drain along Dartmouth Avenue, upgrading existing sanitary sewer along Fordham Road and in residential properties south of Fordham Road, and relocating water mains to avoid conflicts with the proposed storm drain.
The specifications detail extensive technical requirements for materials and construction methods, including concrete specifications, erosion and sediment control, maintenance of traffic, utilities coordination with PEPCO, Washington Gas, and WSSC, monitoring requirements, noise control limitations, and environmental permit requirements. The contractor must obtain approval from multiple agencies and maintain various certifications throughout the project duration. The document includes detailed requirements for construction monitoring, testing procedures, and quality control measures that must be followed. The specifications reference numerous standards from MDOT SHA, AASHTO, ASTM and other regulatory bodies that must be adhered to during construction.
