The contract mandates compliance with PBS KSP standards listed in an attached chart, including requirements for nylon carpet, interior latex paint, gypsum board, acoustical ceiling tiles, ready-mix and site-mix concrete. General Federal sustainability standards also apply to products not covered by PBS KSP from the Green Procurement Compilation website. For PBS KSP standards, the contractor must specify brands and products meeting each standard and provide required data submittals to the contracting officer prior to construction start. Data submittals are not needed for Federal sustainability standards unless requested. The use of PBS KSP standards is mandatory for this contract and the PBS KSP standards are listed in the PBS KSP chart on the next page.

There are also general Federal Sustainability standards for products not listed in the PBS KSP chart. These standards are also mandatory for this contract.

Contractors can find the general Federal Sustainability standards at the Green Procurement Compilation at the website, https://sftool.gov/greenprocurement.

Contractors should note that the PBS KSP standards and the Federal Sustainability standards are listed under separate tabs on the https://sftool.gov/greenprocurement website. Contractors should ensure they review and comply with both the PBS KSP and the Federal Sustainable Acquisition Requirements.

For PBS KSP standards, the Contractor shall specify the brand name and product that shall be used to meet each applicable PBS KSP standard. The Contractor shall provide the required data submittals to the Contracting Officer (CO) or their designee prior to the start of construction. The CO or the CO’s designee shall verify that the products submitted are compliant with these KSPs.

For the Federal Sustainability standards, data submittals are not required unless requested by the CO or CO’s Designee or if required under another clause in the contract.
