Questions from Industry - Signage Project - ACC-RI- Rock Island Arsenal, IL

1. Question: Are you doing a walk through with suppliers?

Answer: Please reference the RFQ and attachments posted at SAM.gov. The Government will not be conducting a walk through prior to award of the requirement.

2. Question: Are you replacing an existing sign?

Answer: Reference solicitation and Attachments 0001 – 0003. We are replacing some signs and requiring various new signs. There is no requirement for removal of any existing signs in the solicitation.

3. Question: Do you have a digital copy or vector files of any logos you want used?

Answer: Reference solicitation Attachment 0002. Yes, the Government will provide the logos that should be used in a .png format.

4. Question: We would like to know if this is a brand new contract OR if there is (was) an incumbent performing these services. If not brand new, could you please provide the current / previous contract number?

Answer: This is a brand new contract.

5. Question: I was wondering if I should include manufacturing and installation in the item price or would you like for us to break it up?

Example:

Main welcome sign- qty 1- $xxx (arbitrary number) includes design, production and installation. OR Main welcome sign- qty 1- Design $xxx (arbitrary number) production $xxx (arbitrary number) installation $xxx (arbitrary number).

Answer: Reference solicitation item 9. The quote should include one total firm fixed price for the entire requirement. No breakdown of manufacturing, installation or individual item price is required.

6. Question: Materials - Need to confirm what you are meaning by matte acrylic.

Acrylic doesn’t come in matte, it does come in non glare which has a flatter finish.

We can bring samples to confirm.

Answer: We are referring to a non-glare acrylic versus a shiny acrylic finish. The eventual awardee of the contract may bring samples to the post award conference/site visit.

7. Question: Welcome sign: Would digital print adhered to front of plexiglass be acceptable? Or would you want black acrylic with relief logos and vinyl or dimensional letters to be consistent with other signs?

Answer: Digital print adhered to front of plexiglass would be acceptable.

8. Question: Leadership Command Board:

Talks about this being a freestanding display but does need to be attached to the wall. Does this need to moveable as one piece is that what you mean by free standing?

This does need to be moveable as one piece, and it should be attached or anchored to the wall to ensure it doesn’t fall over, but the intent is for the bottom of the display to rest on the ground.

Sample has lights - no mention of lights for this display?

We are not looking for lighting on this display.

Does the brushed silver need to match other displays?

The brushed nickel should match the other signage in this requirement.

Are the logos and copy dimensional or vinyl?

The logos will all be vinyl, while the “Army Contracting Command-Rock Island” will be dimensional.

Answer: See answers above.

9. Question: Stairwell / Room Signs & Baylor Entrance Signs & Conference Room VTC Backdrop: The logo graphics are dimensional. But the lettering is printed direct on the background. Can letters be white vinyl or dimensional?

Answer: The logos and lettering should be printed direct to vinyl and adhered to the board directly.

10. Question: Crests: Logos printed direct to vinyl can be adhered direct to the board with out VHB tape unless you want them dimensional and on a separate board?

Answer: The logos should be printed direct to vinyl and adhered to the board directly.

11. Question: Civilian Corps Creed: If we cannot print directly on the back can we do print mounted print to the front or white cut vinyl applied to black acrylic?

Answer: Print mounted print to the front would be acceptable, as long as it does not stick out/it doesn’t look like a sticker attached to the front of the plexiglass.

The desired look of the Civilian Corps Creed signs and Oath of Office signs are they look glass-like and not matte from the front.

12. Question: Army Values: Confirming the text will all be dimensional letters attached to the black matte pvc?

Answer: For the seven Army Values signs, the six “nonfeatured” values (the ones in G.I. Font 400 Italic Field 01 and Army Tan) on each individual sign should be printed direct to the black matte pvc and adhered to the board directly, while the featured value (the one in the center of the sign in G.I Font 750 in white) should be dimensional lettering.
