About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file clarifying contract requirements for preventive maintenance services on Uninterrupted Power Systems (UPS) equipment.

The contractor shall provide all labor, tools, and parts to perform Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMI) and repairs to two Mitsubishi 9800A 750 UPS units located in Building 1947 at United States Army Central Command (ARCENT), Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina. The contract is structured as a Fixed-Price (FFP) agreement covering semi-annual and annual preventive maintenance visits only, with no requirement for emergency response services, emergency response guarantees, or defined emergency response times. The UPS units contain GS YUASA 12V 584Wpc batteries (400 each per unit) that were recently replaced in October 2025 under a prior contract. The Government accepts a one-year parts, labor, and travel warranty for UPS components consistent with OEM Mitsubishi warranty terms. Proactive component repairs (capacitors, fans) and batteries are billable work included within the FFP contract structure for the semi-annual and annual preventive maintenance visits. Currently, no units are in alarm status or require repair.
