About this file

This document is a set of Questions and Answers related to the federal contract opportunity for 82nd Airborne Division Fire Extinguisher Maintenance Services.

The key details are:

  • This is a new contract requirement for the 82nd Airborne Division, as they previously used government purchase cards for local vendors to provide these services.
  • The contract will be a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) vehicle, with estimated 5,000 fire extinguishers requiring annual maintenance, inspection, and services.
  • The solicitation does not include any wheeled fire extinguisher units, despite the initial PWS reference to servicing wheeled units. The contracting officer has clarified that "wheeled" will be deleted from the PWS.
  • There is no incumbent contractor identified, as this is a new contract action.

Question Answer Q1. We would like to know if this is a brand new contract OR if there is (was) an incumbent performing these services. If not brand new, could you please provide the current / previous contract number?

A1. This is a requirement for the 82nd Airborne Division and is a new contract action. The unit previously utilized GPC at the micro-purchase level with local vendors. The unit is looking for a contract vehicle solution.

Q2. HurtVet is highly interested in submitting an offer for this solicitation. I was wondering if there is currently an incumbent. If so, can you please provide me additional information on that so I can research further?

A2. Same as above

Q3. Were some extinguishers inadvertently not included on the list or is this the final list that companies should present their proposals.

This pertains to the wheeled unit fire extinguishers. After review of CLINS 0001 – 0042 does not show any wheeled units even though the solicitation requires servicing of wheeled units. Are offerors to submit pricing based upon CLINS 0001 – 0042 or will the contracting officer amend the solicitation to include additional CLINS for wheeled units?

A3. The unit has verified the current equipment list is valid and there are no models of fire extinguishers with wheels. “Wheeled” is deleted from the PWS.
