Questions from Solicitation of Global Mariner

Q1. Is this opportunity the same as the 1189th TSB Annual Training, similar to the

Battle Assembly’s? Back in May I was working with regarding the August Battle

Assembly and we were curious if this is the same opportunity as we already bid for the total 136 rooms to be split between our DoubleTree and Hilton Garden Inn.

A1. Yes, this is the same opportunity

Q2. We are Charleston’s newest water front hotel and event venue. We are thrilled to offer you per diem for your training! You will find your proposal at the following link:

A2. Not in the area specified. Please see solicitation requirements.

Q3. We just received your lead for August; would the group consider departing on the

12th of August? Unfortunately, we only have 50 rooms available on the 12 – 13th of

August.

A3. No. Our departing date is 8/15

Q4. Please confirm if you need 136 double rooms per night. In case, if one hotel cannot accommodate, would you be open splitting the group into two hotels located and close proximity to each other?

A4. I will need 136 double rooms per night. Can be double or single occupancy.

Q5. I am reaching out from the Homewood Suites Charleston Historic District in reference to the Lodging for Global Mariner in North Charleston, S.C. which is Notice

A5. Our required amount of rooms is 136

Q6. It states that you need 136 double occupancy rooms, but your headcount is 150 people. Will we be able to provide a mixture of single and double occupancy rooms?

A6. My head count is 136 people; Yes we will accept a mixture of single and double occupancy rooms.

Q7. A few questions regarding the above referenced solicitation. They are;

A7. 1. Will you provide a tax exemption certificate to the awarded vendor?

YES

2. Section 5.1.1 of the Statement of Work says Covid-19 Social Requirements:

Social distancing, each bedroom will be occupied by one service member. However this solicitation requests 136 double occupancy rooms, should this be a request for single occupancy rooms?

Single occupancy is an option as well.

3. Will you allow the rooms to be split between more than one hotel to meet the large number of rooms requested? If so should the hotels be within a certain distance?

Preferably same hotel. The Group can be divided amongst two hotels as long as the second hotel is in walking distance, i.e. across the street or no more than .05 mile.

Q8. Can you please give us clarification on the type of rooms needed. In one section it states that 136 double-bedded guest rooms are needed and in another it states that you will have a total of 150 people for these dates. We want to be sure we are offering you the correct room types.

A8. I have a headcount of 136 people. Rooms can be single or double occupancy as long as the intent is met.

Q9. Many of the hotels don’t have 136 rooms available. We found one hotel that can provide 100 rooms for the entire stay. Please let me know if we can book the remaining

36 rooms at another hotel.

A9. No. There will be better oversight with all Soldiers together, however, The

Group can be divided amongst two hotels as long as the second hotel is in walking distance, i.e. across the street or no more than .05 mile.

Q10. Due to limited availability on 136 doubles in any given hotel will you consider two hotels to meet the requirement or allow for a rollaway bed in a king room to satisfy the requirement.

A10. No

Q11. Can the group be divided among two or more hotels?

A11. The Group can be divided amongst two hotels as long as the second hotel is in walking distance, i.e. across the street or no more than .05 mile.
