About this file
This is an AFMC Form 158 Packaging Requirements document for Purchase Instrument Number FD20202600556-00, Version 2, dated March 17, 2026. The document specifies packaging and marking requirements for five line items under the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC). All wooden packaging materials must comply with United Nations phytosanitary restrictions on wood packaging material (WPM) to prevent invasive species, specifically the pinewood nematode. Vendors must construct all wooden pallets, crates, containers, and related WPM from debarked wood with heat treatment at 56 degrees Centigrade (133 degrees Fahrenheit) for 30 minutes minimum, with certification from an accredited agency recognized by the American Lumber Standards Committee (ALSC), and must reference International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM No. 15).
Four items (5998DTG260290FD, 5998DTG260293FD, 5998DTG260292FD, and 5998DTG260291FD) have no specific packaging data required beyond general WPM compliance. One item (5998015985644FD) requires MIL Long Line Packaging at Preservation Level MIL and Packaging Level B, with unit pack dimensions of 24.5 inches length by 16.5 inches width by 4.0 inches depth, totaling 0.935 cubic feet per unit. This item also requires ESD (electrostatic discharge) protection per specification F000009XD3. All packaged items must comply with MIL-STD-2073-1 (Military Packaging Standards) and MIL-STD-129 (Military Marking Standards), with shipping containers marked according to these standards and potentially including additional bar coding, unit serial numbers, OEM names, and model numbers as specified. The packaging specialist responsible for these requirements is Charles B. Davis of the 406 SCMS/GULAA office.
