Questions and Answers for HAMP HFR

1. Are as-built architectural drawings of Hampton Mansion available?

The measured Historic American Building Survey (HABS) drawings of Hampton Mansion are accessible online on the Library of Congress' website, www.loc.gov.

2. Is only one writing sample from a previous project required as opposed to a sample from each previous project that is included in the proposal? Do the writing samples go toward the proposal page count? (RFP page 29)

One writing sample is all that is required. It will not count towards the 25 page count.

3. How do the following required sections of the proposal components apply to the proposed project:

Volume I. Technical Proposal, Tab C, i (RFP page 31) Please ignore. I-J. Does not apply to this solicitation.

4. Please confirm the project start date/period of performance for both phases of the proposed project:

The Individual Acquisition Plan states that the entire project will extend from September 2, 2015 to September 30, 2016 (last pages of "Furnishing Report Part 2 document") SF 1449 states that Phase I extends from August 1, 2015 to July 31, 2017

The correct dates are on the SF 1449: August 1, 2015-July 31, 2017.

Please ignore IAP.

5. Does NPS have an inventory of the items on display and/or in storage? Is this information encoded into a database? If so, can the data be exported as a spreadsheet that can be accessed without proprietary software?

The park does have an inventory of its collection objects and it is in a proprietary database. As noted in the Scope of Work (SOW), the collection contains 45,000 objects. It is thus not feasible to export information on this many objects to a spreadsheet. The collections database is accessible only on site. However, as also noted in the SOW, there are object photos and the opportunity to review collection objects both on exhibit and in storage at the park. The curator will further provide detailed guidance on all of this work, based on 17 years of working with collections to make the review process as efficient as possible. Per the SOW, "The curator has conducted extensive preliminary research into documentary sources and collections materials regarding the Guest Bedchamber, Northeast (Children’s) Bedchamber, and Great Hall."

6. Where are storage facilities for items that are not currently on display? Will the consultant be able to access storage facilities?

The park's museum collection storage is all at the site in Towson, MD. The contractor can access collections with park staff assistance.
