About this file

This document is a salient characteristics specification for a Fullpower patient exam chair (SEPG 533583, EER 277550) intended for the Department of Veterans Affairs' procurement of four medical exam chairs. The chair is specifically designed for Head & Neck specialists and minor procedure applications, featuring solid steel construction with low-voltage DC motors powering vertical height adjustment and backrest recline capabilities. The chair must include programmable position settings with auto-return functionality, low-voltage membrane switches on both sides for control, and smooth 360-degree rotation with rotation locks and brake levers accessible from both sides.

The chair must be equipped with an anatomically contoured backrest with integrated lumbar support, a synchronized footrest that coordinates with recline positioning and flips up when needed, and swing-out armrests to facilitate patient entry and physician access. Additional requirements include a flat recline position supporting minor procedures, full mobility via foot-actuated release at the base, a QuickChange Headrest system allowing rapid swapping of multiple headrest pads (standard, comfort, stretch pillow, full rubberized concave, and half rubberized spherical), protective upholstery finish for cleaning and disinfection, overall length not exceeding 80.0 inches when fully reclined, and a typical seat height range of approximately 20-35 inches. The chair is not intended for patient transport.
