About this file
This document is a Justification for Single Source Award for the Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically for VISN 09 Tennessee Valley Medical Center in Murfreesboro. The procurement involves a birthing simulator for clinical staff training, with an estimated funding amount of $59,795.00. The specific requirement is for a wearable device that can simulate patient questions and is lightweight enough to transport between Murfreesboro Urgency Care Center and Nashville.
AVKIN INC. is the sole source vendor, justified by their status as supply leaders in birthing and training aid simulators across 50 states. Market research via SBA VetCert search yielded 933 results of SDVOSBs and VOSBs, but none were local or capable of completing the service. The procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 13.106-1, with the contracting officer Diane Ziegler certifying the justification. The acquisition plan action ID is 36C249-25-AP-1124, and the purchase requisition number is 626-25-2-1876-0018.
