About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs Strategic Acquisition Center for Microfilm Incineration Services. The VA requires off-site incineration of 25,200 lbs of microfilm records, consisting of 16-mm microfilm reels, 4" film rolls, and 4" x 6" film sheets from the 1950s-1990s, containing administrative financial/payment records. The 16 pallets of records, packaged in 722 sealed 1-cubic ft. corrugated boxes, are located at the RCV dock in Neosho, Missouri, and must be destroyed to NIST 800-88 hard copy microform standards.
The RFI seeks to identify potential service providers, with a response deadline of July 2, 2025 at 11:00 PM EST. Respondents must submit a 25-page capabilities statement addressing specific requirements, including business size, governance, pricing factors, certifications (NAID AAA or ISO 9001:2015), chain of custody processes, and storage/security methods. The VA is exploring potential set-asides for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) and evaluating commercial practices, GSA Schedule feasibility, and market capabilities through this market research effort.
