About this file

This is Addendum Two issued by the Board of County Commissioners, Palm Beach County, Florida, Facilities Development and Operations Department, Capital Improvements Division for Project P-2026-000054, Fire Station 16B - Temporary Facility. The addendum modifies the original bid documents and establishes critical project parameters including a fixed occupancy date of October 1, 2026, rather than a duration-based completion timeline. The project involves relocating an existing trailer to serve as a temporary fire station facility, with work including utility connections, fire alarm reconnection, mechanical equipment installation, electrical infrastructure, backflow testing, and comprehensive documentation including signed and sealed as-built drawings. A pre-construction meeting is required with Seacoast Utility Authority (SUA), and contractors must schedule a site visit to inspect the existing trailer at 8130 N. Jog Road, West Palm Beach, Florida 33412, on July 15, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. by contacting Niri Maharajh at 561-785-5407. The addendum addresses specific scope questions from prospective bidders regarding fire alarm systems, utility closeout responsibilities, electrical panel configurations, and documentation requirements.

The addendum clarifies cost responsibility allocation between Palm Beach County and the contractor. The County will pay utility connection fees, utility installation fees including FPL charges, and water meter charges, excluding fees or permits associated with contractor mobilization that have not been waived. The contractor is responsible for inspection fees, impact fees, activation fees, and all permits and certifications including backflow certification for the 4-inch double-check detector valve (DCDV), pressure testing for fire lines, sewer inspection coordination, and meter documentation. The contractor must also obtain an underground contractor's license and submit all shop drawings and materials ahead of the preconstruction meeting. All bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum and any previously issued addenda by signature on their bid proposal form to avoid disqualification.
