About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by Tobyhanna Army Depot on April 29, 2026, seeking vendor capabilities for high-capacity overhead crane systems. The RFI is for informational purposes only and does not constitute a formal solicitation or commitment by the government. TYAD requires multiple crane systems across two buildings: Building A needs one 7.5-ton crane and two 5-ton cranes with an 18-foot minimum hook height and approximately 85-foot runway; Building B needs two 10-ton cranes and two 7.5-ton cranes with a 25-foot minimum hook height and approximately 144-foot runway per crane. The requirement is turnkey, encompassing design, selective demolition of approximately 10,000 square feet of modular interior structure, electrical and mechanical installation, and structural support assessment with potential new column and footing installation.
Interested vendors must submit a capabilities statement not exceeding ten pages (font size 10 point minimum) in bullet format addressing: overhead crane system specifications (dimensions, capacity, performance, power requirements, control systems, and safety features); installation and demolition experience; maintenance and support capabilities; and turnkey solution capabilities. Required vendor information includes company overview, points of contact, relevant experience with similar systems, customer references, and capability statements with supporting documentation. Responses must be submitted electronically in Microsoft Word or PDF format to James Harris (james.t.harris208.civ@army.mil) or Ricky Saunders (ricky.saunders.civ@army.mil) by 12:00 p.m. EDT on May 7, 2026. No classified material should be submitted, and proprietary information will be protected from release outside the government.

2. BACKGROUND
The Tobyhanna Army Depot has a potential requirement to procure high-capacity overhead crane systems. The crane systems should be capable of lifting and moving heavy loads within the facility, with a focus on efficiency, safety, and precision. This is a turn-key requirement including design, selective demolition, electrical / mechanical installation, and structural support.
The overhead cranes are to be delivered and installed in two buildings:
Building A
· One (1) 7.5-ton and Two (2) 5-ton cranes.
· Minimum clear hook height: 18 ft.
· Runway length: Approximately 85 ft.
· Clear span 65 ft (for 7.5-ton) and 20 ft (for 5-ton).
· Scope Note: Requires selective demolition of an approximately 10,000 square foot modular interior building to allow for crane installation.
Building B
· Two (2) 10-ton and Two (2) 7.5-ton cranes.
· Minimum clear hook height: 25 ft.
· Runway length: Approximately 144 ft per crane.
· Clear span: Approximately 30 ft.
3. SCOPE OF INFORMATION REQUESTED
We are seeking information on commercially available systems that meet the following requirements. Please provide detailed responses to the following:
