ARTICLE I: SCOPE OF THE AGREEMENT
A. Background of the All of Us Research Program
The All of Us Research Program is working to improve health care through research. Unlike research studies that focus on one disease or group of people, All of Us is building a diverse database that can inform thousands of studies on a variety of health condions. This creates more opportunies to:
● Know the risk factors for certain diseases
● Figure out which treatments work best for people of different backgrounds
● Connect people with the right clinical studies for their needs
● Learn how technologies can help us take steps to be healthier
K nowledge gained from observaonal cohort studies has dramacally advanced the prevenon and treatment of diseases. Many of these cohorts, however, are small, lack diversity, or do not provide comprehensive phenotype data. The All of Us Research Program has begun enrollment of a diverse group of at least 1 million persons in the United States to accelerate biomedical research and improve health. The program aims to make the research results accessible to parcipants, and it is developing new approaches to generate, access, and make data broadly available to approved researchers. Elements of the program protocol include health quesonnaires, electronic health records (EHRs), physical measurements, the use of digital health technology, and the collecon and analysis of biospecimens.
