About this file
The document is a Security Gate Assessment for Owen Summers, detailing the current state and recommended upgrades for an existing gate control system installed around 2002. The assessment reveals that the gate controllers are Byan Systems G2M, located on the West Guard Shack exterior wall. Currently, the hydraulic arms are removed due to ongoing construction, the guard shack is unoccupied, and the gate remains open during the day and chained closed at night. The scope of work includes providing and installing a new barrier arm gate system with updated components such as operators, down loops, photo eyes, and a 3-button station.
The existing system has several safety features including photo/safety eyes at waist level and entry/exit safety mechanisms. The gate is primarily operated through a Lenel network system for scheduled opening and closing, with a manual override switch inside the guard shack and an exterior control pedestal. The assessment recommends replacing entry and exit gate motors, controllers, hydraulic arms, and all safety sensors. The proposed work also includes system commissioning, operational verification, and owner training. The mechanical components, specifically the electrically operated cylinders, are noted as requiring upgrade or replacement to ensure proper functionality.
