QUESTION AND ANSWER

Q: On page 4 of the SOW, there’s a rectangle area shaded, is this the new asphalt pavement road recently added for the new entrance gate at the South East corner of the property? Reference to item 2 in page 2 of the SOW.

A: Yes, that is the new paved road.

A: NO

2. we mill the entire parking lot down to the sub base? Or

A: NO

3. no milling is being asked and just saw cut where the potholes are down to the sub base and seal cracks and other damages on the pavement?

A: Following the instructions outlined in task 1 of the scope and copied below for convenience, repair all damages throughout the parking lot (potholes, cracks, low and under grade, areas that are not draining properly and/or forming puddles, etc.). After all repairs are done, then: Remove and dispose of loose debris (grass, weeds, dirt, rocks) from paved areas; Seal entire asphalt pavement with 2 coats of Gem Seal Premium Sealcoat for asphalt pavement or equivalent. Hot pour rubberized asphalt joint sealer for asphalt to concrete joints as needed; Restripe parking as indicated on task 3 of the scope. Refer to scope for additional requirements.

“Repair damaged areas, to include potholes, cracks, low and under grade areas. Remove asphalt in repair areas down to base material, including around culverts; Repair/replace road base material and re-compact to form new subgrade; Saw cut larger areas to be repaired and remove asphalt down to base material. This includes repair to areas around culverts; Replace culverts if needed; Apply a weed killing soil sterilizer to all areas where weeds and grasses are/were growing in potholes, cracks and edges; Apply tack coat uniformly to vertical surfaces abutting or projecting into newly prepared base material and/ or exiting asphalt; Install hot-mix asphalt in accordance with industry standards; Compact all repaired surfaces flush to grade of existing asphalt or adjacent walkways, sidewalks and concrete parking areas. REPAIRED AREAS SHALL BE PERFECTLY FLUSH TO EXISTING GRADE/ASPHALT. Maintain slope of all repairs to allow for proper drainage; Fill cracks in the existing asphalt that are greater than ¼ inch wide with asphaltic crack sealing material.”
