About this file

This file is a compressed archive containing Notice to Proceed (NTP) documents related to the LBNF/DUNE-US Cryostat Temporary Ventilation project. The NTP documents establish the authorization and conditions for the selected contractor to commence work on the acquisition, fabrication, assembly, testing, packaging, delivery, and installation of a temporary air handling system for the Long Baseline Neutrino Facility (LBNF) Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) Far Detector located 4,850 feet underground at the Sanford Underground Research Facility in Lead, South Dakota.

The air handling unit system is required during the installation of cryostat membrane, insulation, and detector components and must deliver conditioned air to the cryostat with circulation through large feedthroughs in the cryostat roof. The system includes flexible or fixed ducting connecting the air handling equipment to cryostat input ports, with connections made via non-conductive duct material and custom duct adapters provided by the government contractor (FFDG). Electrical connections will be routed in conduit to a designated power panel provided by FFDG. The vendor is responsible for procuring all materials, fabrication, assembly, testing, packaging, delivery, and complete installation at the underground facility. The work is being administered by the Department of Energy's Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory.
