FBO Questions & Answers NRMJ2000-18-00479CM2 Q: Will email submission be accepted?

A: All quotes must be submitted electronically via email to casey.morris@noaa.gov , the only other form that will be permitted is via fax at 303-497-3163.

Q: Are we to provide 2-30amp disconnects, 1- 60amp disconnect and 4-15 amp GFI receptacles with boxes and in-use covers for each panel (5)? Making it a total of 10-30 amp disconnects, 5- 60 amp disconnects, 5-200amp panels and 20-GFI receptacles with boxes and covers to comprise the Final BOM?

A: Yes Q: Are we to provide the 2-pole breakers needed to power up the associated disconnects listed above, in their respective panel BOM?

A: Yes Q: Are we to install these disconnects (previously mentioned) somewhere in particular? Or is this just for future needs? (procurement only) If they require installation please provide direction.

A: Load Center disconnects and receptacles to be installed on individual panels in approximate locations marked on drawing. Panel layout of load center, disconnects and GFI's to be determined.

Q: Is it the intent of this project scope to install a 200 amp feeder loop fed from a service disconnect from the PVREA pole to each panel location and then tap the feeder to feed the panels? -Would a Main panel with 4-sub panels be a optional solution?

A: The intent of the project is to have 200 amp capacity at any one of the 5 panel locations. All 5 panel locations to have identical connections.

Q: Is there to be any overcurrent protection (main breaker) for the panels?

A: Yes. Each 200 amp load center to have a 200 amp main breaker.

Q: Are we to install the GFI receptacles anywhere in particular?

A: GFI's to be installed on panel. Location to be determined.

Q: Are we to install these panels on a rack mounted to any type of base or pad- i.e.: concrete, wood etc.? Or do these mount to the local terrain as is?

A: Panel needs to have base sufficient enough to withstand peak winds at location of 90 to 100 mph.

Q: Are we to make the connections to the concrete shelter and SIDAR? Is this a single point connection?

A: Yes. Two and three pole fused disconnects are on the SODAR and concrete building respectively.

Q: Since trenching is stated on the drawings, what is the preferred depth of the trenches? Can we use direct burial cable in lieu of conduit in the trenches?

A: Whatever code calls for. Trench where depression contour is may have to be deeper (8 to 10 feet) to accommodate large wire, and conduit should be used in this area. Direct burial will be permitted where cables will not be damaged by rocks settling in soil.

Q: Are there any pictures of the area that is to be excavated? Particularly the “depression contour” area?

A: See Attachment B Site Pictures.

Q: Will there be a state electrical permit required on this project?

A: No state permit is required at this time. Waiting for definitive answer from site manager. All work, however, is expected to meet local codes. If no permit is required, arrangements do have to be made by either contractor or Government representative to have meter box inspected before Poudre Valley will install meter.

Q: Is the feeder from the service pole going to be one run of wire tapped at load center C or are there supposed to be 5 service runs one to each load center?

A: One run of wire tapped at load center C might be more economical.

Q: There are 2- 30 amp disconnects and 1- 60 amp disconnect called out besides the 5 load centers. What is the location of these disconnects?

A: There is to be 2-30 amp disconnects, one 60 amp disconnect and 4 GFI's on each of the 5 panels listed. See notes on Attachment A.

Q: Please verify that the service feeder can be direct buried. If so, is 250 aluminum wire service feeder acceptable?

A: Service feeder can be direct buried, however, conduit is recommended at location of depression contour since trench could be very deep (8 to 10 feet) at contour transition. Wire size is responsibility of contractor to provide sufficient service.
