National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) Energy Systems Integration Facility (ESIF)
Solicitation Number RHK-8-82255 for the
Lease to Purchase Agreement for High Performance Computer System Amendment 1: Questions & Answers
In the table below the questions submitted to NREL have been provided as well as NREL’s responses to the received questions to date.
Question NREL’s Responses
Are the insurance coverages part of this requirement? It is not clear if the Electronic Data Processing and Commercial General Liability coverages are included.
The solicitation states: “The Proposal shall identify the costs for the Insurance requirements as a separate item of lease pricing cost and provide priced options in the proposal for awards with and without insurance. In addition, the proposal shall provide the details related to a refund of insurance costs if the Company decides to pay off the lease early,” on page 3. If the Offeror requires NREL to carry insurance, the requirements must be identified in the proposal.
Further, Clause 16 in Appendix B-8 “Standard Terms and Conditions for Commercial Items (Goods and Services)” provides information that outlines the insurance requirements of the Offeror.
Please see the clause and table provided in Clause 16 for more information.
Does the Combined Synopsis/Solicitation posted as solicitation number NREL_RHK882255 on FBO contain requirements similar to a existing contract or will this be a new requirement?
No, NREL does not have a previous subcontract available for reference.
NREL currently has 9 x T10000C Tape Drives, can you please confirm if they are LTO-6 or another technology?
There is no mention of Tape Drives in the Request for Information.
Question NREL’s Responses
Can I confirm that in the rest of the body of the RFP after the first paragraph “The Company” is
ALLIANCE FOR SUSTAINABLE ENERGY,
LLC?
Correct, the solicitation provides that definition. All references to ‘The Company’ is the Alliance for Sustainable Energy.
Who is the appropriate point of contact to coordinate the technical specs and insurance?
The NREL point of contact during the solicitation period is Brittany Decker, Brittany.Decker@nrel.gov.
Has Alliance received an insurance estimate?
