About this file
This is a Notice of Intent to Sole Source for equipment maintenance services. The Department of the Navy seeks a contractor to provide preventative maintenance, calibration, and repair services for two Laboratory Hematology analyzers (Stago STA Compact models, serial numbers 0000007675 and 0000007677) aboard the USNS Comfort (T-AH 20), a 1,000-bed hospital ship homeported at Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia. The contractor must deliver all-inclusive labor, supervision, parts, diagnostic equipment, inspections, and shipping necessary to maintain the analyzers within original equipment manufacturer specifications in like-new or better condition. Services are limited to preventative and corrective maintenance as defined in the Performance Work Statement; any defects or repairs beyond this scope require immediate written notification to the Contracting Officer, Contracting Officer Representative, and Chief Biomedical Repair Technician with a cost estimate before proceeding.
The solicitation indicates the Navy's intent to sole source this requirement to Diagnostica Stago, Inc., the original equipment manufacturer, based on the specialized nature of the equipment and the need for OEM-qualified maintenance. No specific response deadline, award date, or pricing information is provided in this notice, which functions as a pre-solicitation announcement allowing potential competitors an opportunity to submit a statement of capability before the formal sole source award is finalized.
