About this file
This is a Sole Source Notice issued by the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) announcing its intent to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price commercial contract for maintenance and repairs of medical imaging equipment. The contract will have a one-year base period with up to four one-year renewal options. The intended recipient is Mediso USA, LLC, located at 1530 Wilson Boulevard, Suite 115, Arlington, Virginia 22209-2447.
The required services encompass maintenance and repair of two medical imaging systems manufactured by Mediso: a nanoScan Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) and X-ray Computed Tomography (CT) 4H/CT scanner, and a nanoScan Positron Emission Tomography (PET) 122S/CT scanner. The justification for sole-sourcing is that Mediso is the only company possessing the requisite trained service professionals, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) spare parts, proprietary software, schematics, and technical expertise necessary to properly maintain and repair these specialized systems. Third-party vendors lack access to these proprietary resources. The notice explicitly states this is not a request for quotes; however, in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.207(c)(16)(i), all responsible sources may submit capability statements, proposals, or quotations demonstrating clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government, cost-effective, time-efficient, and capable of meeting the stated requirements. The Government will not reimburse respondents for costs incurred in submitting responses. Response dates and contact information are referenced in the accompanying Notice of Intent to Sole Source document.
