About this file
This is a Presolicitation/Notice of Intent for a non-competitive service contract for analytical ultracentrifuge maintenance and support.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), specifically the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) Laboratory of Dynamics of Macromolecular Assembly (LDMA), intends to award a contract to Bio Niquest Labservices (696 San Ramon Valley Blvd #346, Danvalle, CA 94526) for service agreement covering four analytical ultracentrifuges (AUCs). The AUCs are specialized instruments capable of spinning samples at speeds up to 60,000 rpm with integrated laser and UV light systems for molecular tracking and data collection. The service requirement includes detailed maintenance, replacement parts, and repairs necessary to support biomedical research in protein structure, macromolecular interactions, and nanoparticle studies. The procurement is classified under NAICS code 811210 with a $34.0 million size standard and will be conducted under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures at an amount not exceeding $350,000. The contract is being solicited from a single source without providing full and open competition due to the specialized technical requirements and precise specifications necessary for proper AUC operation. Interested parties may submit capability statements, technical proposals, cost-price proposals, period of performance, Unique Entity ID, Taxpayer Identification Number, and business size certification by April 18, 2026 at 9:00 AM Eastern time to Mr. Vishnuvajjala Hanumanth Rao at vishnuh@mail.nih.gov. All offerors must maintain active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM).

GENERAL INFORMATION
Title: Service agreement for four Analytical Ultracentrifuges
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB), Laboratory of Dynamics of Macromolecular Assembly (LDMA) specializes in developing biophysical methods to study macromolecular interactions, protein structure and function, and nanoparticles, in the pursuit of biomedical research to improve public health according to the mission of NIH. The primary tool for
LDMA’s research is the analytical ultracentrifuge (AUC). In general, these centrifuges can spin samples at speeds up to 60,000 rpm while collecting data in less than one second intervals using both laser and UV light systems to track the movement of molecules in solutions. It should be noted that this is not a common high-speed ultracentrifuge. Due to the delicate complexity of the optics system and its integration with data collection software and other internal components of the AUC, there are precise specifications that must be met to ensure proper data collection. These instruments require detailed and exact service maintenance, replacement parts and repairs. Our lab operates several Analytical Ultracentrifuges that have been critical to both in house research and collaborative projects, contributing significantly to advances in biochemistry, immunology, and molecular biology
