About this file

This is a Notice of Intent to Award a Special Procurement issued by the Beaverton School District in Oregon on September 12, 2023. The District intends to award a contract through special procurement to Serendipity Center for the provision of tuition and residential care services for special education students. The contract will serve students whose Individualized Education Plans determine they require the level of support that Serendipity Center provides. The contract term extends from the award date until June 30, 2027. The District provided a seven-calendar-day public comment period from the notice date, with the deadline for submission of comments, questions, or protests directed to contacts@beaverton.k12.or.us.

The approximate contract value is $550,000.00 per year. The procurement was conducted pursuant to ORS 279B.085 and OAR 137-047-0285, which authorize special procurement procedures when circumstances warrant a sole-source award. This special procurement mechanism was employed because the service directly benefits a specific student population with specialized needs that Serendipity Center is uniquely positioned to address. Inquiries and correspondence regarding the procurement were directed to the District's Purchasing Manager, Peter Madaus, and the Business Services Procurement and Contracting department located at 1260 NW Waterhouse Avenue, Beaverton, Oregon 97006.
