Notice of Intent: Specialized on-site fluorescent microscopy services

(75N98026Q00739)

In accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1, the National Institutes of Health intends to award a Firm- Fixed-Price Purchase Order to BioImage Solution LLC.

The Advanced Imaging and Microscopy (AIM) Resource at the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) is a trans-NIH shared resource that operates next generation light microscopes and provides support for advanced image processing. AIM also provides sample preparation services for our users in order to render their samples capable of imaging on our unique microscopes. Many of the user provided biological samples we image must be prepared in very specific and unique ways (e.g. optical clearing or hydrogel expansion) – in order to be imaged on our microscopes. This specialized sample preparation requires a great deal of expertise to perform correctly. The AIM Resource requires a technician with a minimum of 5 years of relevant hands-on lab experience to work on-site at AIM preparing fluorescent cell and tissue samples using a variety of advanced techniques and processing the resulting image data. The technician will also perform independent research and development on fluorescence labeling techniques relevant to AIM microscopes.

This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. However, any available small businesses (e.g., 8(a), service-disabled veteran owned small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business, veteran-owned small business, and women-owned small business) as stated herein may submit a written capability statement that clearly supports and demonstrates their ability to perform the requirement. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed award based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.

It is anticipated that an award will be issued approximately ten (10) days after the date of this notice unless the Government determines that another vendor has the capability to meet this requirement.

Please email responses to david.shen@nih.gov no later than 11:00 p.m. EDT on July 10, 2026.
