Notice of Intent: Maintenance Contract for BioView Duet Automated Scanner
(75N98026Q00587)
In accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1, the National Institutes of Health intends to award a Firm- Fixed-Price Purchase Order to BioView, Inc.
The BioView Automated Imaging System, housed within the Genetics Branch OMICS Technology Facility, is a mission-critical instrument for cytogenetic studies and multiplexed Fluorescence in situ Hybridization (FISH) and Immunofluorescence (IF) assays. It supports a wide range of Genetics Branch projects and collaborative research efforts within the CCR. Given the instrument’s mechanical complexity and the high precision required for its moving and calibrated components, a continuous professional service contract is essential to sustain our cytogenetic and multiplexed FISH operations for the CCR community. This annual contract provides preventative maintenance, timely on-site repairs, replacement of worn components, software updates, and immediate technical online and telephone support. These services are critical for both routine operations and the development of novel cytogenetic and multiplexed FISH assays tailored to evolving research needs. Without this service agreement, we will be unable to maintain system calibration, troubleshoot operational issues, or implement new assay workflows. Repairs would incur significant costs and lead to substantial downtime, disrupting numerous active and upcoming projects resulting in potential data loss, reduced research capacity, and the eventual loss of advanced imaging and cytogenetic analysis capabilities for the CCR community.
This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. However, any available small businesses (e.g., 8(a), service-disabled veteran owned small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business, veteran-owned small business, and women-owned small business) as stated herein may submit a written capability statement that clearly supports and demonstrates their ability to perform the requirement. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed award based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
It is anticipated that an award will be issued approximately ten (10) days after the date of this notice unless the Government determines that another vendor has the capability to meet this requirement.
Please email responses to david.shen@nih.gov no later than 11:00 p.m. EDT on June 18, 2026.
