Notice of Intent for DuoMAG MP-Dual TMS System Purchase Order

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a Firm-Fixed-Price Purchase Order (75N98026Q00381) to Brainbox Ltd for a DuoMAG MP-Dual transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) system. The procurement is justified under FAR Part 6.302-1 based on Brainbox Ltd's status as the authorized distributor meeting NIH standards, with no other identified source capable of providing the required products and services. The contracting office contact is david.shen@nih.gov.

The Human Cortical Physiology & Neurorehabilitation Section (HCPS) of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) requires a TMS stimulator capable of delivering monophasic paired pulses at precisely specified time intervals with variable stimulation intensity. The device must be compatible with the existing BrainSight neuro-navigation system, real-time closed-loop EEG-TMS system (BOSS), and Cambridge Electronics Design controller hardware, with future compatibility for alternative coil designs and robotic coil positioning arms. The equipment will support interventional studies for developing novel therapies to improve motor skill recovery in patients with brain injury or disease. Although this is not a competitive procurement, small businesses (8(a), service-disabled veteran-owned, HUBZone, small disadvantaged, veteran-owned, and women-owned small businesses) may submit written capability statements by 6:00 a.m. EDT on May 28, 2026. Award is anticipated approximately ten days after this notice unless the Government determines another vendor has comparable capability.

Notice of Intent: DuoMAG MP-Dual TMS System

(75N98026Q00381)

The National Institutes of Health intends to award a Firm-Fixed-Price Purchase Order to Brainbox Ltd.

In accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1, Brainbox Ltd is the authorized distributor who can provide the products/services that meet our standards. No other source has been identified who can provide the requirements listed below.

The Human Cortical Physiology & Neurorehabilitation Section (HCPS, NINDS) is in need of a new transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) stimulator capable of performing monophasic paired pulses. The new device must be able to deliver two monophasic pulses at several precisely specified time intervals, and be able to vary the stimulation intensity. It should be compatible with our existing and recently upgraded BrainSight neuro-navigation system and real-time closed-loop EEG-TMS system (BOSS), as well as the controller hardware from Cambridge Electronics Design. It will be compatible with future potential upgrades including alternative coil designs and a robotic coil positioning arm. This device will allow HCPS to continue and develop new interventional studies aimed towards the development of novel therapies for improving recovery of motor skills in patients following brain injury or disease.

This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. Brainbox Ltd is the service provider. However, any available small businesses (e.g., 8(a), service-disabled veteran owned small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business, veteran-owned small business, and women-owned small business) as stated herein may submit a written capability statement that clearly supports and demonstrates their ability to perform the requirement. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed award based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.

It is anticipated that an award will be issued approximately ten (10) days after the date of this notice unless the Government determines that another vendor has the capability to meet this requirement.

Please email responses to david.shen@nih.gov no later than 6:00 a.m. EDT on May 28, 2026.
