About this file
This document is a Change Order Notice from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources for the DNR-OWR-CO#3 -FR441 Vermillion River Danville Dam Removal project. The change order is required to increase the contract with Halverson Construction Co., Inc. by $54,981.25 to a new total of $1,538,371.87 due to the need to remove a larger quantity of old bridge remnants under the US 150/Gilbert Street Bridge than was originally anticipated. This additional work was unforeseen as the bridge remnants were previously submerged until the dam downstream was breached, lowering the water level and exposing the remnants. The change order represents a 3.71% increase to the original contract amount.
The pricing terms of the change order include $70,487.50 for 563.9 cubic yards of Debris Removal, offset by a deduction of $15,506.25 for the remaining 413.5 cubic yards of Organic Debris Removal. The change order is in accordance with Illinois statutes governing contract changes. No other details about pricing, funding, or the incumbent contractor are provided.

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources requires one (1) change order to a contract with Halverson Construction Co., Inc. in the amount of $ 54,981.25 for the following reasons:
CHANGE ORDER NOTICE:CO#3:
This Project requires the removal of old bridge remnants under the US 150/Gilbert Street Bridge.
The larger quantity of bridge remnants to be removed was unforeseen as the bridge remnants were under water until the dam downstream was breached during construction thereby lowering the water level exposing the bridge remnants to be removed. Contract change order is required to increase the contract in the amount of $54,981.25 for a new contract total of $1,538,371.87. This change order is a 3.71% increase to the current contract amount.
These circumstances were unforeseeable at the time and germane to the original contract. Change order is in accordance with 720 ILCS 5/33E-9. (ref. original contract - P-2919)
