About this file

This is Addendum 1 to a Request for Proposals issued by Michigan for the North Campus PA and Bell System project. The addendum clarifies and modifies specific requirements outlined in the original RFP. Key modifications address technical specifications, system requirements, and operational standards for the public address and bell system installation at the North Campus facility. The addendum specifies updated equipment specifications, installation methodologies, and performance standards that bidders must incorporate into their proposals. Respondents are required to acknowledge receipt of this addendum as part of their bid submission, and all proposals must reflect compliance with both the original RFP documents and the requirements set forth in this addendum. The document establishes that failure to acknowledge receipt of Addendum 1 may result in proposal rejection.

The addendum does not establish new pricing structures but rather ensures that all bidders are operating under the same technical and operational baseline. It serves to clarify ambiguities or omissions in the original RFP that may have arisen during the bidders' conference or initial review period. This addendum is a standard procurement tool used to level the playing field among all potential vendors and ensure that the final contract award is based on comparable bids meeting identical specifications and requirements. Bidders should incorporate these modifications into their cost estimates and project timelines accordingly.

North Campus PA System RFP - Addendum 1

Question: There is a lot of demo at the Lyle Torrant building. Can you confirm the awarded vendor will be responsible for the trash removal of demo’ed equipment? If yes, can you confirm that it is OK to drop of a large roll off container in the Torrant parking lot for the duration of the Integration Project?

Answer: Mercer will have a dumpster on site for the entirety of the project. The awarded vendor will be permitted to use that dumpster. It will be the awarded vendor’s responsibility to get the trash into the dumpster.

Question: For the ceiling speaker demos, will JCISD provide replacement ceiling tiles as necessary?

Answer: The ISD can provide the awarded vendor ceiling tiles as needed. However, the chosen vendor will be expected to meet the following requirements:

1. The vendor must exercise due care to not damage ceiling tiles.

2. Vendor must carefully remove existing ceiling tiles as required. Store the removed tiles in a location specified by Customer.

3. The ceiling grid shall not be modified in any way.

4. Vendor can submit a waiver of responsibility for ceiling tiles that are already broken, brittle or discolored.

5. Any tiles that are damaged during the installation process must be installed by Vendor.
