About this file

This is a Notice to Interested Parties issued by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) Bureau of Community Health and Prevention regarding a potential grant partnership opportunity. The MDPH Oral Health Program intends to submit a grant application to the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) under the Grants to States to Support Oral Health Workforce Activities funding opportunity (HRSA-26-84). The project aims to address oral health workforce needs in Dental Health Professional Shortage Areas through increasing oral health services, implementing evaluation strategies to improve program performance, and developing sustainable programs that enhance accessibility and quality of services. If awarded, MDPH plans to partner with the Better Oral Health for Massachusetts Coalition (BOHMAC), administered by the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers, to increase the number of practicing public health dental hygienists through training courses, technical assistance, and support for embedding community-based oral health programs within local health departments. Interested parties with equal qualifications to BOHMAC who wish to be considered for partnership must submit their qualifications by July 15, 2026, at 4:00 PM to Angela M. Verheyen at Angela.M.Verheyen@mass.gov.

The estimated contract value for this vendor is approximately $75,000 annually for up to five years, contingent upon HRSA award receipt and subject to actual funding amounts at the time of award. BOHMAC was selected based on its status as the only statewide oral health coalition in Massachusetts, its existing knowledge and relationships with community-based oral health programs, public health dental hygienists, local boards of health, and its prior experience collaborating on grant opportunities with MDPH. The organization specializes in increasing access to oral health services, developing public and industry awareness, strengthening the oral health workforce, and supporting statewide oral health surveillance systems.
