About this file
This is a sole source contract notice issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Spokane Mining Research Division (SMRD) announcing intent to award a firm-fixed price purchase order to Bruker AXS LLC, located at 5464 East Cheryl Parkway, Madison, Wisconsin 53711-5373.
Bruker AXS LLC has been identified as the sole source provider for preventive maintenance and service support on two pieces of analytical equipment: the Bruker D2 PHASER (XRD) and the Bruker S2 PUMA (XRF). The justification for sole source procurement is based on Bruker's exclusive access to proprietary diagnostic software, firmware updates, OEM-certified replacement parts, and the company's status as the sole manufacturer and authorized service provider for these instruments. The Bruker Labscape Maintenance Service Agreement includes software updates, unlimited planned maintenance labor and travel, planned maintenance parts, repair parts, anodes (X-ray sources), and a 10% discount. The acquisition is classified under NAICS code 811210 (Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance) and is conducted under FAR 6.103-1(b) authority. Interested vendors believing they can meet these requirements are invited to submit written capability statements to Contracting Specialist Felipe Cardenas at tpp5@cdc.gov by August 22, 2026. The government reserves the right to review all submissions and determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement, though this is not a competitive quotation request.
