About this file
This document is a Pre-Solicitation Notice of Intent from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) announcing a sole-source, firm fixed-price purchase order for Premium Service Contracts with Carl Zeiss Microscopy, LLC. The contract covers service and maintenance for multiple microscopes, specifically the LSM 880 / AxioObserver.Z1 (Serial Number 2811000262) located at the Twinbrook Imaging Facility in Hamilton, MT. The period of performance is from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026.
The sole-source justification is based on Carl Zeiss Microscopy being the exclusive manufacturer and having the only certified technicians capable of servicing this sophisticated scientific instrument. The microscope is critical for imaging experiments supporting NIAID and other NIH institutes, requiring periodic calibration and rapid repair to minimize downtime. Interested parties can submit a capability statement by email to Danielle Tines or Linda Smith by 1:00 PM EST on Friday, June 27, 2025, though the government retains discretion on whether to compete the requirement.
