The contract covers preventative maintenance (PM) services, atmospheric and Low-Pressure Chemical Vapor Deposition (LPCVD) tube replacements, and emergency maintenance visits for the furnace, which is a critical piece of equipment used to deposit high-quality dielectric films onto substrates in the Class 100 Boulder Micro-Fabrication Facility.

The base period of performance is twelve (12) months with an estimated start date of June 1, 2026, plus four optional (4) 12-month extension periods. The contractor must provide factory-trained personnel certified by the original equipment manufacturer (Tystar) and supply all materials, consumables, travel, labor, and equipment required for the work. The place of performance is NIST, 325 Broadway, Boulder, Colorado, with access granted to Building 81. Deliverables include written reports detailing all services performed within one week of each service visit, along with backups of configuration and recipe files. The contractor is responsible for all travel expenses and must supply all required materials. Payment is made in arrears using Net 30-day terms upon receipt and acceptance of proper invoices, with advance payment not authorized. All contractor personnel must pass government background checks, obtain NIST identification badges, and register their vehicles with NIST Security before accessing the campus. Work is scheduled during regular business hours (Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mountain Time), and the contractor must ensure the furnace operates at or exceeds original equipment manufacturer specifications following all service work.
