INDUSTRY QUESTIONS

1. Drawing EOL-2 Note 2 middle of page (typical for each manhole) Question is what is typical?

NASA Response: Disregard the EOL-2 Note.

2. Specifications list many cut sheets, submittal drawings that look proprietary. Question are they proprietary?

NASA Response: The only proprietary components are the G&W two position switches.

3. Drawing UD-7 Junction Cabinet Schedule, last column on right. (Install) Question is that contractor furnished?

NASA Response: Yes.

4. Drawing UD-7 Switch Gear Schedule, Drawing states for new pad mount switches to retrofit existing pad. Drawing UD-4 Detail One shows new precast for vault for new pad mount switches.

Question retrofit existing pad or install new switch vault?

NASA Response: Retrofit where existing pads are shown. Add new pad where no existing pad is shown.

5. Specification Section 337002.0010 Electrical Distribution System Underground Page 12, Paragraph 2.4.1.6 Neutrals, (Requires a Neutral be pulled with the 15kv cable) Drawing POL-3 only show the 15kv cable sizes and quantities, no Neutral Shown. Question: Is a neutral require if so what size.

NASA Response: Refer to callouts in drawing PE pages.

6. Drawing PCP-1: Transformer TR-X-85 – addressing the vault specified on note 3, UD-3 – will the same transformer vault used on north island project be acceptable?

NASA Response: Refer to drawing UD-2 for vault detail.

7. Drawing PCP-2: G/S WI-11 – Discrepancy between PCP-2, and PE-2 – please specify if existing switch is to be re-used, or a new switch installed as detailed on PCP-2.

NASA Response: Refer to drawing page PED-1 for clarification of relocation of existing switch to new location as further verified in the switch schedule.

8. Drawing PCP-2: G/S WI-12A – Is existing switch in place at location to be re-used?

NASA Response: Note: On drawing page PCP-5 existing switch callout G/S WI-8 should be G/S W-

8. Switch at existing manhole 7 to remain in place. Refer to switch schedule. There is no existing switch on manhole 2. G/S WI-8 will be relocated to existing manhole 2 and renamed

G/S WI-12A.

Equipment schedule on UD-7 states that the switch G/S WI-8 should be used to replace that switch and be named G/S WI-12A?

NASA Response: Note: On drawing page PCP-5 existing switch callout G/S WI-8 should be G/S

W-8. Switch at existing manhole 7 to remain in place. Refer to switch schedule.

Yes. Relocate G/S WI-8 to manhole 2 as shown on PCP-2. Rename switch G/S WI-12A.

Please clarify the equipment schedule on UD-7. Is G/S WI-8 the name of the switch in place now, and we will just re-name the switch to G/S WI-12A, or will this switch be replaced?

NASA Response: Note: On drawing page PCP-5 existing switch callout G/S WI-8 should be G/S W-

8. Switch at existing manhole 7 to remain in place. Refer to switch schedule.

Relocate G/S WI-8 to manhole 2 as shown on PCP-2. Rename switch G/S WI-12A.

If so, what switch replaces G/S WI-8? Have no way to tell what names the existing switches are, cannot read print on EOL-1.

NASA Response: Note: On drawing page PCP-5 existing switch callout G/S WI-8 should be G/S W-

8. Switch at existing manhole 7 to remain in place. Refer to switch schedule.

Vacated pad from switch relocation is to be removed.

NASA Response: Yes.

11. Drawing PCP-9: Switch G/S WI-22 is being fed with two sets of 4/0awg 15kv wire out of J35 containing both NE and NW feeders. The new plans call for 1/0 awg to be ran from J35 to G/S

WI-22? This feeder cable supplying the switch has been installed on north island project, and a

1/0awg feeder from J35 to G/S WI-22 would not serve purpose.

NASA Response: Disregard note to install 1/0 awg feeders from J35 to G/S WI-22.
