Item # Question Answer

Is there a preference for spirulina matrix, or are solution standards okay?

Producing a matrix-based (e.g., biomass or dietary supplement formulation) certified reference material is the objective of this solicitation.

Is there a target number of different toxins, fatty acids, amino acids?

The list of analytes of interest in the Statement of Objectives is intended as a proposed target list and not as an inclusive requirement of the solicitation. There is not a specific number of required analytes for nutrients (such as fatty acids and amino acids), however the offeror’s proposal must include measurements of at least three (3) of the five (5) toxin classes listed. The offeror’s proposal should include as many of the listed target constituents (both toxins and nutrients) as the vendor deems would be beneficial to potential customers and would be cost effective in producing the CRM(s).
