About this file
This is an Amendment I Questions and Answers document related to a National Weather Service RFI for RF Power Monitor replacement. The Q&A clarifies technical details about the power sensors' integration with existing systems, specifically that the sensors connect to an Interface Panel rather than a standard power meter. The sensors feed DC voltage proportional to average input RF power to the Interface Panel/CPU, which adjusts the sensor during calibration to read 2mV with no input signal and provides ±15V power. The Interface Panel is described as an integral system component that cannot be replaced.
The associated Federal Contract Opportunity is a Special Notice/RFI from the Department of Commerce NOAA seeking information about RF Power Monitor replacement. The notice explicitly states it is for market research purposes only, does not constitute a solicitation, and will not result in a direct contract award. No costs associated with responding will be reimbursed by the government.

Amendment I: Clarifying Questions Answered:
Can you confirm whether these to-be-replaced sensors are used in conjunction with a companion power meter? It is not used in conjunction with a typical power meter. The sensor data is fed to an Interface Panel where the data is fed to an instrumentation amplifier, then ADC, then FPGA which relays the information to our CPU.
Is it alright to replace that power meter as well, or are there logistical obstacles with that? No, our Interface Panel is an integral part of our overall system.
How exactly do the power sensors/meters integrate into the relevant system in terms of data I/O? The power sensor feeds a DC voltage proportional to average input RF power to the Interface Panel/CPU (see the response to bullet 1). The Interface Panel/CPU, during offline calibrations, adjusts the power sensor to read an output voltage of 2 mV when no input signal is detected. The Interface Panel also feeds ± 15V.
