The bid solicitation was released on September 23, 2025, with sealed bids due on October 23, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. The specifications detail the procurement of a new fire tanker mounted on a Freightliner 2026 108SD tandem axle chassis, to be delivered within 90-120 days from the order date. The bid requires a comprehensive set of specifications covering tank configuration, pump and spraying systems, emergency lights, hose and tool storage, sub-frame assembly, and chassis information.

The bid package includes detailed technical requirements for the tanker, such as a ¼" carbon steel tank construction, 4000-gallon low-profile design, hydraulically driven pump system, and extensive emergency lighting and safety features. The estimated value is not specified, but the vehicle will be equipped with a Cummins L9 330HP engine, Allison 3000 RDS 6-speed automatic transmission, and include a full Freightliner factory warranty. Bidders must complete a bid form, bid supplemental form, and contractor affidavit, and are required to comply with Hart County's purchasing policy, which prohibits awards to county employees, board members, or companies with potential conflicts of interest.
