About this file

This is a USDA Construction Specifications and Scope of Work document for a new well drilling project at Negrito Fire Base in the Reserve Ranger District of New Mexico. The project requires a contractor to construct a replacement well for an existing system that was irreparably damaged, with a collapsed drop pipe and fallen pitless adaptor. The scope of work includes drilling a new well as close to the original location as feasible, installing surface and interior casing, pitless adaptor, pump, plumbing, and electrical connections, and tying into the existing distribution system.

Key deliverables must be completed within 7 calendar days of project start, including a fully restored and functioning well system, all necessary documentation and permits demonstrating compliance with federal, state, and local standards, and a final walkthrough inspection with the government representative. The contractor must provide qualified personnel for technical installation and electrical work, with a designated project manager to communicate with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). Most well parts will be supplied from a previous contract, and the government will provide site access and project documentation.

Project New Well Drilling at Negrito Fire Base on Reserve Ranger District New Mexico

General Information

1.0 Scope of Work

The contractor shall construct a new well at the Negrito Fire Base to replace the existing well system, which was deemed irreparable due to a crushed drop pipe and fallen pitless adaptor. Work shall include drilling, casing installation, surface prep, and complete assembly of a functional water system. All work must comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The well should be as close as to the existing well as possible/feasible and should be connected into the existing distribution system. Contractor is responsible for all labor, tools, equipment, permitting, and materials.

2.0 Background

During the execution of a previous well repair contract, the contractor discovered that the original well was irreparably damaged. The drop pipe had collapsed inside the borehole and the pitless adaptor fell, rendering the system non-functional and inaccessible. A new well is now required to restore water access at Negrito Fire Base, which is essential for supporting personnel and operations at this remote fire management facility.
